As you know, the ICA Congress Abu Dhabi 2023 is fast approaching! If you haven’t yet registered for the Congress, which is taking place from 9- 13 October in Abu Dhabi, please note that the early bird deadline for registration is 11 July 2023.This is the last day to receive discounts on your registration in addition to the one that has already been offered to our members ?
If you are still thinking about going to this event, we're excited to announce that the professional programme for the Congress has just been released! The programme includes all of the sessions, workshops, papers, posters, speakers and more. This will help you to better plan your trip, to know which sessions you don’t want to miss!
As part of the release of the programme, we are also hosting two webinars to highlight various aspects of the programme – one in Arabic and one in English. These webinars will take place on Thursday 6 July at 7:00 CEST (Arabic) and 15:00 CEST (English). The webinars will feature the Co-Chairs of the Congress Programme, as well as Congress Programme Committee Members. They will share more details and insights about the sub-themes, selected sessions and confirmed papers.

The FIDA Call for Projects is currently open! The FIDA Board of Directors now invites all ICA members to submit proposals for projects and initiatives planned for 2024.

FAN President Elections. Be ready to cast your vote!
Last Friday, 30 June the call for nominations for the President of the Forum of National Archivists (FAN) was closed. In the next few days, all Category A members in good standing will be receiving an email, from the ICA LimeSurvey account, with voting information. Please check your spam/junk folders in case you do not see it in your inbox!
The FAN President is the primary leader of FAN. In close collaboration with the members of the FAN Steering Committee, the FAN President sets the strategic direction of the Forum and ensures its good governance. The Forum of National Archivists, comprising Category A members of the ICA, aims to provide support to all members of the ICA through the development of high-level strategic responses. These responses aspire to address the contemporary challenges of managing archives and be relevant for all members – and not just those eligible for membership of FAN. FAN is an autonomous body, determining its own agenda and priorities, and working within the ICA and with other ICA bodies.

ICA Abu Dhabi Congress 2023 – Early Bird Deadline
As mentioned above, the early bird deadline for the ICA Congress Abu Dhabi 2023 is 11 July 2023. Once this date passes, the discounts for registering early will no longer be available. Discounts are also available for ICA members, students, retirees and those from low-resourced countries.
DPC/ICA Webinar - Looking Back to Make Progress with Advocacy in Digital Preservation
The DPC is organizing this webinar in collaboration with the International Council on Archives (ICA) to celebrate ICA’s 75th anniversary! Looking back to make progress in digital preservation: what we’ve learned; what to ask for; and how to ask for it will examine core and emerging challenges of digital preservation and introduce participants to tools and methods that will help them build a compelling and impactful basis for investment in digital archives. The webinar is scheduled for Tuesday, 18 July at 12:00 UTC. For further details, click here.
FIDA Live Q&A Session
In 2022, we hosted a series of live Q&A sessions to help answer any questions that potential applicants had before the deadline of the ongoing call. FIDA live Q&A sessions will again be held this year, between July-September 2023 via Zoom.
